Ingredients and Supplies Needed:

Ingredients:

  • 1.5 lbs ground beef (80/20 blend recommended for juiciness)
  • 1/4 cup ranch dressing
  • 2-3 jalapenos, sliced
  • 6 slices of bacon

  • 6 Brioche hamburger buns
  • 6 slices of sharp cheddar cheese
  • Lettuce leaves
  • Tomato slices, heirloom preferred
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Supplies:

Burger Tips:

  1. Choose Quality Beef: Opt for ground beef with an 80/20 fat-to-lean ratio to ensure a juicy and flavorful patty. The higher fat content adds extra richness and prevents the burger from becoming dry during cooking.
  2. Keep It Cold: When forming the patties, work quickly and keep the meat cold. Warm or overhandled meat can result in a tougher texture.
  3. Indent the Patties: Create a slight indentation in the center of each patty before grilling. This helps the burgers cook more evenly, preventing them from puffing up in the middle.
  4. Don’t Overwork the Meat: Gently form the patties without compacting the meat too much. Overworking can lead to dense burgers.
  5. Use a Meat Thermometer: To achieve the perfect level of doneness, invest in a reliable meat thermometer. Cook the burgers to an internal temperature of 160°F (71°C) for medium.
  6. Use Fresh Ingredients: Fresh ingredients will set your burgers toppings apart. I try and use fresh peppers and tomatoes right out of my garden. If I could grow bacon, I would too.

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your Blackstone griddle over medium-high heat. If using a traditional grill, set up direct and indirect heat zones.
  2. While the griddle is heating, cook the bacon until crispy. Once done, transfer the bacon to a plate lined with paper towels to absorb excess grease.
  3. In the same spot where the bacon was cooked, add the sliced jalapenos and onions to the griddle. Cook until they become slightly charred and caramelized, infusing them with a smoky flavor. Set them aside for assembling the burgers later.
  4. On the hot griddle, cook the burger patties for approximately 4-5 minutes per side, or until they reach the desired level of doneness.
  5. In the last minute of cooking, top each patty with a slice of cheddar cheese to allow it to melt.
  6. Toast the hamburger buns on the griddle for about 1 minute or until they develop a light golden-brown color.
  7. Assemble the burgers: Spread ranch dressing on the bottom half of each bun, add the cooked patty with melted cheese, top with the grilled jalapenos, onions, crispy bacon, lettuce leaves, and tomato slices.
  8. Serve your sizzling Jalapeno Bacon Ranch Burgers immediately, and enjoy!

  3. Coleslaw: A refreshing coleslaw with a tangy dressing provides a cool contrast to the bold flavors of the burger.
