How To Remove Pumpkin Seeds For Roasting

Remove the Lid:

  • Lift off the lid of the pumpkin and set it aside.

Scoop Out the Seeds:

  • Use a large spoon or an ice cream scoop to scrape the insides of the pumpkin. Start at the top and work your way down, loosening the seeds and stringy pulp as you go. Be thorough in cleaning out the inside of the pumpkin.

Collect the Seeds:

  • As you scrape, collect the seeds and pulp in a bowl. Try to separate as much of the pulp from the seeds as possible. You can use your hands to help separate them.

Further Clean the Seeds :

  • If you want to roast the seeds, you’ll need to further clean them. Place the collected seeds and pulp in a colander or strainer. Rinse them thoroughly under cold running water, using your fingers to help remove any remaining pulp. Continue rinsing until the seeds are clean.

Now, you have removed the pumpkin seeds from the pumpkin and can proceed with roasting or using them in your favorite recipes!
