Ultimate BLT Recipe on Blackstone Griddle

Equipment

  • Blackstone griddle or similar flat-top cooking surface
  • Spatula or tongs- Our Favorite Spatulas for the Blackstone Griddle
  • Paper towels or a wire rack for draining the cooked bacon

Ingredients

  • Bacon thick-cut bacon works well for a BLT
  • Sliced tomatoes Hierlooms preffered
  • Lettuce iceberg lettuce or romaine lettuce are commonly used for BLTs
  • Bread classic choices include white bread, sourdough, or whole wheat
  • Mayonnaise
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

Cook the Bacon:

  • Heat your Blackstone griddle to medium-high heat.
  • Lay the bacon slices on the griddle, ensuring they don't overlap.
  • Cook the bacon for about 4-5 minutes per side, flipping halfway through, until it reaches your desired crispness.
  • Transfer the cooked bacon to paper towels or a wire rack to drain excess grease.

Prepare the Bread and Ingredients:

  • While the bacon is cooking, prepare your bread slices by toasting them lightly on the griddle, if desired. I like mine lightly toasted, so it has just a bit of crunch on the outside of the bread.
  • Wash and slice the tomatoes into thick slices.
  • Wash and dry the lettuce leaves.

Assemble the BLT:

  • Take a toasted bread slice and spread a layer of mayonnaise on one side.
  • Add a few lettuce leaves on top of the mayonnaise.
  • Place 2-3 slices of tomato on top of the lettuce.
  • Season the tomatoes with a pinch of sea salt and pepper.
  • Add 3-4 slices of cooked bacon on top of the tomatoes.
  • Finish with another lettuce leaf and top with the second bread slice.

Cut and Serve:

  • Carefully cut the sandwich in half diagonally or into quarters if desired.
  • Serve your BLT immediately while the bread is still fresh and the ingredients are crisp.
